For over 30
years I've traveled across America photographing wondrous natural scenes mostly on large format 4x5 sheet film: capturing the
beauty found in the American landscape from Maine to California and from
Washington state to Florida and many places in-between.
Over the years, I've had the privilege to share my fine art photography through
publications, group shows, art festivals and gallery exhibitions offering fine art
prints for both private individuals and for corporate collections.
With over 30 years of
experience I've created archival quality prints
of all sizes on fine art photographic paper, on canvas and most recently on
metal. Now with advancements in digital technology, I've been able to convert my
existing collection of large format sheet film originals to digital files. These,
combined with my new creations, can now be shared with
you and others through this on-line gallery of The Elegant Landscape.
It is my hope that any one of my creations
presented here for your enjoyment might evoke in you a spark, some level of
appreciation or an emotional response. If so, then I will have
succeeded as a photographer and as an artist.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
Spending time along a wooded trail renews the soul. Trekking
and camping the back trails of America’s wilderness areas, state parks and
National Parks in search of The Elegant Landscape,
has afforded me the privilege to know just a piece of the American landscape and to capture a
small slice of its unique beauty.
format 4x5 film provides almost twenty times the surface area on which to capture
fine grain detail that is difficult to match in the 35mm format.
Combining 4x5 film
with digital technology allows for fine art prints that can be as small as 4
inches by 6 inches or up to 80 inches by 100 inches and even larger without the
loss of detail or quality.
Over the years, I've had the privilege to have my photography seen in publications, group shows and gallery exhibitions. I've also enjoyed exhibiting at art festivals throughout the northeast earning
multiple awards and receiving wide recognition for my work.
I am also very proud of my book, "The Elegant Landscape".
There are many ways to exhibit your fine art photographs from framed & matted prints to large space creations on canvas, metal or acrylic. All are excellent choices. The stunning quality of metal prints as been my preferred choice in gallery exhibitions and art shows that I've done in the past few years.

Concerning metal prints, the process used and the nature of the materials have proven exceptionally stable and you should enjoy them for more than a lifetime. Visit my blog to read my review of metal prints. Museum quality canvas is likewise archival. Of course, as with all art, diffuse sunlight is best. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight for any length of time as it may cause fading. But if you hang your select art in your home, your should enjoy the benefits of high quality fine art archival prints for many, many years to come.
